A little bit about me, in 100 questions

I don't know if I mentioned it, but this past weekend, we loaded up all our possessions, threw them in a Ryder truck and moved across El Paso into a new house. I love it. Mainly because it has grass, or possibly because we have a bonafide guest room, or a place to start a garden or, another million different things, but I digress the reason of this post. I haven't posted in almost two weeks, so I'm giving you this post to tide you over until I get my house back into order.

  • Are you young at heart, or an old soul? Young at heart. Though, I think, some days, I belong in the 40s.
  • What makes someone a best friend? They're there for you at your best, worst, and most ridiculous.
  • What Christmas (or Hanukkah) present do you remember the most? My bike. A 21 speed, mountain bike, silk matte burgundy.
  • Tell me about a movie/song/tv show/play/book that has changed your life. LOLZ TWILIGHT. SIKE. This is rather an interesting question. I don't think anything has really changed my life, though lots have been very inspirational, or led me to think/see the world in a different way.
  • Name one physical feature that you like about yourself, and one you dislike. I've always liked my hands. I feel hands can tell you a lot about a person. I dislike my back, mainly, because it's crooked.
  • Would you like to reconnect with any friends you’ve lost contact with? Just a select few. Normally I get to see the ones I like when I go back home, but it's the few that have moved away that I want to stay in touch with.
  • What’s more important in a relationship: physical attraction or emotional connection? Emotional is the important answer, but I'm going to go into the shallow end and say, if you can't find anything remotely atheistically appealing about your significant other, don't lie to yourself. You'll move on.
  • Name a movie that you knew would be terrible just from reading the title. Freddy Got Fingered.
  • What holiday do you most look forward to? Anyone that my husband gets off. ;D
  • How is the relationship between you and your parents? Good. I don't think I've
  • ever had a point in my life where I wanted nothing more to do with them. Not going to lie, I miss them dearly, but it's awesome to have a "new life" with my husband.
  • You’ve got the TV on, but you’re not really watching. What channel is the TV on? TRICK QUESTION. If I'm not watching the TV to watch it, I'll normally flip it to a music station. I don't have the TV on for the background noise like my husband does. *twitch* I prefer the radio.
  • Name a song that never fails to make you happy. Jump, Little Children - Habit
  • You know at least one person named Michael. Tell me about him. Growing up, he practically worshiped my brother, and did dumb things. Now he's a Marine who blows stuff up with a tank. Makes complete sense to me.
  • Have you ever read the “missed connections” on Craigslist? Have you ever posted one, or wanted to? I read them and I either find them hilarious or creepy. And no, I've never had the urge to post one.
  • If you could pick anywhere to live the rest of your life, where would it be? Somewhere on a bunch of wooded acres. Don't care what state, just give me trees and my privacy.
  • Can money buy happiness? Depends on your definition of happiness. Happiness is a roof over my head, food in my belly, and being content with my husband, and that involves money, so, I think in the long run, yes. Yes it can.
  • Do you drink? Smoke? Do drugs? Why, or why not? I drink, but not often, mainly because I'm such a lightweight, and it makes me really sleepy. I don't smoke, though I have. And I've never done drugs, just because I was terrified of getting kicked out of the house and being on the street.
  • Is there anyone close to you that you know you can’t trust? You don’t have to give names. With the definition of trust here being loose, I'll go with yes.
  • Where was your favorite place to go when you were a little kid? My friend's houses. They were always more interesting and fun.
  • Have you ever spent a night in the hospital? Only when I was born.
  • Do you enjoy being with only one or two friends, or with a large group of people? Depends on the large group. If I know and like everyone, I can deal with it. If I don't know anyone, I start to get antsy. I prefer one to three friends at a time.
  • Do you like the type of music your parents listen to? Do your parents like the type of music you listen to? I do! Mom raised me on Oldies and Dad raised me on Classic Rock. Mom can tolerate some of the music I like, Dad gets twitchy and turns off the radio.
  • Have you ever been bullied? Have you ever bullied anyone else? I wasn't bullied. I was picked on. There's a difference. I have glasses, got picked on for that; was really skinny, got picked on for my "chicken legs", got picked on for being smart, got picked on for being a girl, blah blah blah. Am I traumatized from it? No. Did I ever bully anyone? No. Was I a smart ass? Yes.
  • If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
  • Do you believe in a god? Of course.

  • Have you ever bought a product from an infomercial? I have a Magic Bullet. Does that count?
  • If you could give up your car and never have to drive again, would you? Hell no. That would mean walking around in the Hell Paso heat. If I lived somewhere like New York, yeah. I'd give it up no problem.
  • If you go back to one point in time to give advice to yourself, when would you go and what would you say? It would mainly be to say "You can do it." or "Breathe."
  • What’s your “quirkiest” habit? Um. Possibly all of them.
  • What is “normal?” Are you normal? What is normal? Is there really a norm any more? Though, I've always been above average. Except in math...
  • Someone close to you is dying. You have the choice to let this person live for 10 more years, but if you do, you cause the death of 10 strangers. You don’t have to see them die. Do you take the offer? Depends on the "close" person.
  • What is one thing you could never forgive? Someone who killed any of my family. I'd probably go all Batman on them.

  • What part of the past year sticks out in your mind? This whole month. Gah.
  • You win a scratch-off lottery game that gives you $2000 a week (after taxes) for the rest of your life. Do you keep your job?  Nope. I'd go volunteer somewhere though.
  • Could you be in a long-distance relationship? If you’re in one, what makes yours work? I've done it before. It's not hard, as long as the other person is willing to keep an effort to stay in touch. Once that goes down the drain, it's over.
  • What’s the best route to your heart? Right now? Mop the floors, do the laundry, and share the remote.
  • Have you ever met someone through the internet, then met them in real life? Quite a few people, actually!
  • What is your favorite sport? College football.
  • What has been troubling you lately? Moving. SO MUCH CRAP.
  • Did you enjoy your high school prom? If you haven’t gotten there yet, do you look forward to it? If you didn’t go, why not? I went to two. One sucked, one was awesome.
  • What do you use more often: your intuition or logical reasoning? A mix of the two.
  • Do you know what makes you happy? I do. Do you?
  • Tell me about the last book you read. How about the last one I finished? I just finished The Help. Brilliantly written, quite powerful. Haven't been sucked into a book like that in quite a while. I'm also pleased to say that the movie was just as good as the book.
  • What is the nicest compliment you’ve ever been given? That I was graceful.
  • Who was your first crush? That poor dark headed boy that I kissed in kindergarten. Teacher embarrassed the crap out of me for doing that, too.
  • Do you believe that there is life on other planets? Yes.
  • Predict what your life will look like a year from now. Lonely.
  • Often, people will ask how your last relationship ended. I want to know how it began. My ex before my husband? I guess...I was loading crates full of Cokes into my car, and he offered to help. He was using his Southern Gentleman charm, and I fell straight into his web of lies. The end.
  • Where is your favorite place to go out and eat? Anywhere that involves steak.
  • What is something you want to change about your current situation? I'd be happier if I could find a bachelor's degree I actually want to stick to.

  • What is your ethnic heritage? German/Irish/Welch and I'm sure there's other stuff, but I haven't bothered getting that far.
  • Describe a person that inspires you. People who will give you the shirt off their back and expect nothing in return.
  • If you earn minimum wage doing what you love, would you? Yes. If you love what you do, it won't seem as if you've worked a single day of your life.
  • Do you believe in luck? It's the only way I've survived.
  • Describe the last time you were very angry at someone. Brian wasn't very careful in packing the furniture. Needless to say, we have damaged furniture now.
  • Do you want to live until you’re 100? Only if I feel I haven't accomplished everything I want to.
  • Do people change? If so, how do you keep a relationship together when both of you start to change? Yes. Yes they do. You learn to adapt. If your partner suddenly starts snoring, you don't divorce them because of that. You learn to adapt and adjust. Though, if your partner starts abusing you, then, then you get a divorce. You don't adapt to that.
  • Have you ever risked a friendship by telling someone you liked them? Yes.
  • Would you rather be alone doing something you enjoy, or doing something you don’t like with your best friends? Alone, for I am an introvert.

  • Where would you prefer to live? A city? The suburbs? The countryside? The mountains? Give me 10+ acres of wooded land with DSL and I'm satisfied.
  • Do you often skip breakfast? Depends on what I'm doing for the day and when I get up.
  • How do you know what true love is? True love is not killing your husband when he does things repeatedly that you've asked him not to.

  1. Love it! Enough to steal it in fact, since I've also been on a blogging hiatus...

  2. Yay grass! I want to start a garden myself, but it's too much work for me right now. Plus, even if I had started one, I know I'd get too busy with my dissertation to properly take care of it. Maybe next year?

I also liked this questionnaire well enough to steal it. :) I didn't want to comment until after I'd (finally) filled it out, though, eh heh.
